Did you know that botox can be used to create what is known as a chemical brow lift?

Botox is commonly used to treat wrinkles that form with facial animation. Typical areas that can be treated include the forehead, glabella (area between the eyebrows) and crows feet. Did you know that  can also be used to create what is known as a chemical brow lift?

The main method by which botox can create elevation of the lateral eyebrow is by partially weakening the muscles just below the brow. Once these muscles, which tend to act to pull the eyebrow down, are treated the muscles above the brow act relatively unopposed creating a subtle lift to the brow.

Chemical brow lifting is a great, non-surgical way to open up the eyes. The procedure is limited to relatively modest levels of lift, however. Additional elevation of the brows can be achieved with a formal brow lift or with replacing lost volume of the upper eyelids using skin filler injection or fat grafting.
