Revision Sliding Genioplasty with Chin Reduction
This patient came to Thomas Lamperti, MD unhappy with his chin prominence following sliding genioplasty surgery done elsewhere. He wanted to conservatively reduce some fullness and prominence to his chin area, while avoiding redoing any osteotomies or bone repositioning. Dr. Lamperti performed revision surgery which included removing the previously placed metal plates. Additionally, Dr. Lamperti reshaped and reduced the chin fullness and prominence modestly using a burring technique in which a drill was used to shave down some of the chin bone. In the 3 month after photo you can see that the patient's chin is shorter (from top to bottom) and is also a few millimeters less projecting.
